KommandoStore has showcased prototypes of the upcoming Eighty-Four Combat Gloves, which will combine flame-resistant (FR) fabric with goatskin. The gloves are currently scheduled to launch in September 2026.
The new model was publicly demonstrated for the first time at the GOALS exhibition in Des Moines, USA. The images published by Soldier Systems Daily show pre-production prototypes, so individual construction details may still change before the official release.
Combination of FR Fabric and Goatskin
According to currently available information, the Eighty-Four Combat Gloves will be made from two main materials – flame-resistant FR fabric and natural goatskin.
This combination of materials is a logical choice for tactical gloves: fabric sections help maintain hand mobility and reduce the overall weight of the gloves, while leather is typically used in areas requiring better abrasion resistance and a more secure grip. Goatskin is valued in tactical gloves for its flexibility and relatively good tactile sensitivity – this is especially important when working with equipment fastenings, bag buckles, communication devices, tools, and other small objects.
At the same time, it should be noted that the manufacturer has not yet published detailed technical specifications. It is currently unknown what flame resistance standard the gloves will meet and whether they will have official certification.
Three Color Variants
KommandoStore plans to offer the Eighty-Four gloves in three color options: Coyote, Ranger Green, and Black/Sand.
The design of the Black/Sand version is inspired by the visual aesthetic of the video game Battlefield 3, giving the new model a distinctive character, while the other two colors are classic and easily combinable with modern tactical equipment. Coyote color fits well in dry, sandy, and mixed terrain environments, while Ranger Green is a practical choice for forested areas and green or olive-colored equipment setups.
Who might these gloves be suitable for?
The Eighty-Four Combat Gloves are positioned as tactical combat gloves, so their potential uses could include:
- military and tactical training
- working with vehicles and equipment
- shooting practice
- airsoft and military simulations
- hiking and intensive outdoor work
- situations where brief contact with heat or flames is possible
However, until detailed specifications are published, it is not possible to accurately assess the gloves' level of protection, finger dexterity, cuff construction, or suitability for working in cold and wet conditions.
What else needs to be clarified?
Before the Eighty-Four Combat Gloves go on sale, the most significant unanswered questions relate to the full technical specifications. Of interest is whether the new gloves will feature:
- certified flame resistance
- reinforcements in the palm and finger areas
- touchscreen compatibility
- adjustable cuff
- hanging loops
- double stitching in high-stress areas
- a size chart suitable for European users
The anticipated price or information on availability in the European market has also not been announced.
Planned Release in September
KommandoStore indicates that the Eighty-Four Combat Gloves are scheduled for release in September 2026. The demonstrated samples are still prototypes, and changes in construction or materials are possible until the production version is presented.
If the final model maintains a successful balance between flame resistance, hand mobility, durability, and a reasonable price, the Eighty-Four gloves could become an interesting addition to the tactical glove segment. MilCamp will continue to follow information regarding this model and its full technical specifications.
