Why is solid lubricant necessary?

Traditionally, cleaning firearm components, especially gas pistons, can be time-consuming and difficult. Solid lubricant forms a protective layer that prevents soot and dirt from adhering to metal surfaces. As a result, after shooting, simply wiping the parts is sufficient – no prolonged scrubbing required.
